Who We Are
State Officers
Akshay Nangia
State President
Aloha, Texas FBLA!
My name is Akshay Nangia, and I’m honored to serve as your 2025–2026 Texas FBLA State President! I’m currently a rising junior at Bridgeland High School and have been an active member of FBLA since my freshman year. I originally joined because of my older brother’s involvement, but it didn’t take long for me to discover why he was so passionate about it.
FBLA has given me more than just leadership skills. It has given me a voice. This organization has pushed me to grow in countless different aspects, from public speaking and communication to networking and time management. But most importantly, it has gifted me with new connections and memories with amazing people that will last a lifetime.
Outside of FBLA, I’m involved in student council, track, computer science club, and Mu Alpha Theta. When I’m not working on school or FBLA, I enjoy spending time with friends, playing sports, listening to music, and, of course, sleeping.
To me, FBLA is more than just workshops and competitions; it’s a family. I’m beyond excited to continue giving back to the organization that has already given me so much. Let’s make this year unforgettable.

Howdy Texas FBLA!
My name is Alyssa Jiang, and I’m honored to serve as your 2025-2026 Secretary! I’m currently a Junior at Cinco Ranch High School, and this is my 4th year in FBLA.
I joined FBLA as a freshman ambassador, and it’s been one of the best decisions of my high school career. Since then, I’ve served as Vice President for Area 5, competed in events like Business Communications and Community Service Project, and attended conferences where I met and bonded with incredible individuals (like the person reading this now). I am beyond grateful for all the support I have received from my parents, everyone in the “Jiang Gang”, and of course, my amazing advisors, Mr. Bryan and Mr. Soares– I can’t thank y’all enough for the ways you’ve changed my life for the better.
Outside of FBLA, I serve as the President of Student Council, Co-President of Key Club, Co-President of Best Buddies, and run a nonprofit based in Houston. I also love playing volleyball, volunteering, and eating cheese in my free time.
I love meeting and talking to new people, so don’t hesitate to come up and say hi! I look forward to an incredible year together!
Best,

Leo Gomez
Area 2 State Vice President
Hello Texas FBLA!
My name is Leonardo Gomez, and I am beyond honored to serve as your 2025–2026 Area 2 State Vice President. I’m currently a junior at Del Valle High School, where I proudly lead as my chapter’s President.
FBLA has been one of the most impactful parts of my high school journey. It’s taught me leadership, communication, and confidence, and it’s connected me with so many inspiring members from across Texas and beyond.
In addition to FBLA, I’m involved in several other organizations that help shape who I am, including DECA, Yearbook, National Honor Society, and Film Club. I love staying active and involved in my school community, and each of these groups helps me grow as a student and a leader.
When I’m not working on school or FBLA, I enjoy spending my free time doing things that help me relax and recharge. You’ll often find me cooking new recipes, watching movies or shows , or reading a good book.
This year, I’m focused on a few major goals for Area 2:
Increase membership across all chapters
Build a stronger sense of unity and connection among our members. Create multiple community service events to give back to the communities that support us
And most importantly help bring as many of you as possible to State Leadership Conference and Nationals!
I can’t wait to meet all of you, support your chapters, and lead alongside you. This year, we’re going to make big things happen—together.
Let’s make this the best year yet.
Area 2 Leads, Serves, and Unites
Eemaan Sheikh
Area 3 State Vice President
Howdy Texas FBLA! My name is Eemaan Sheikh, and I am honored to serve as your 2025-2026 Area 3 Vice President. I am a senior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Austin and have been a part of FBLA since my sophomore year. In my spare time, I love exploring new music, reading, and spending time with my friends/family. I also have a particular fondness for boba 🙂
Among all my extracurricular involvements, FBLA has been my absolute favorite. I’ve had invaluable opportunities to develop skills in networking, professionalism, and leadership. This program kindled my passion for business, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the life-long friendships and cherished memories I’ve made at SLC and NLC. I’d like to extend my deepest gratitude to my family, incredible LASA Chapter, and advisor Mr. Cuttill, for your unwavering support and encouragement.
I aspire to empower each of you, our future business leaders, through resources, initiatives, and workshops during my term on the State Officer team. I am beyond excited to give back to a community that is truly meaningful to me, and I hope to make FBLA just as much a cornerstone to your journey as it has been to mine!
Gus Rivas
Area 5 State Vice President
Hola Texas FBLA!
I’m Gus Rivas, and I’m a rising junior at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston! I first joined FBLA by founding my school’s chapter—and since then, I’ve helped grow it to over 250 members strong. Now, I’m honored to serve as your Area 5 Vice President for the 2025–2026 year. From that first spark of starting a chapter to now being part of the state officer team, FBLA has shaped who I am and opened so many doors.
This year, I have big plans to grow our membership, bring more recognition to our local chapters, and create stronger connections across Area 5. I want to make sure that every student in our region can access the same incredible opportunities that FBLA has given me.
Outside of FBLA, I run track, love math, and enjoy spending time learning new things and staying active. I’m interested in pursuing a career in finance and hope to double major in finance and math in college. I’m looking forward to working with chapters across Area 5 and making the most of what this year has to offer.

Howdy Texas FBLA!
My name is Aashi Kashyap, and I’m honored to serve as your 2025-2026 Area 7 State Vice President! I’m currently a junior at Central High School, and this is my third year in FBLA. I began my journey as a freshman curious about the world of business and quickly found a community that challenged me to grow and inspired me to lead.
Since then, I’ve competed in events, served as my local chapter’s Parliamentarian, and had the privilege of connecting with members from all across Texas and our nation. Sachchit Balamurugan
Area 9 Virtual State Vice President
FBLA has been one of the most meaningful parts of my high school journey—it’s where I’ve learned to lead, innovate, and connect with a community of passionate, driven students. Now, I’m excited to give back and help every member unlock their full potential.
This year, I’m focused on making our chapter more prepared, more confident, and more connected. I’m working on launching virtual practice competitions, building a community-powered resource bank, and forming partnerships with businesses and alumni to bring mentorships and workshops directly to you. I’m also developing an AI-powered chatbot that will help members discover the best event for their unique strengths and interests.
Outside of FBLA, I’m a huge tech enthusiast. I love programming, building apps, and diving into research that tackles real-world problems. For the past two years, I’ve been working on an AI-powered cancer research project, combining my passion for technology and healthcare to make a real-world impact. I founded Youth Opportunities in Tech Innovation (YOTI) to help nonprofits by building websites and teaching students valuable tech skills. I also started the Verbal Vortex Gavel Club to help students grow as public speakers and leaders.
I am excited to be onboard the officer team and ready to lead Area 9/Virtual to new heights!
Thanks,
Sage Jordan
Middle School Representative
My name is Sage Jordan, and I am the first ever middle level ambassador for Texas FBLA. I am an incoming freshman at Mount Pleasant High School, and I have been in FBLA since fifth grade. I plan on continuing in FBLA all throughout high school, and eventually running for national officer. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and spending time in nature. My faith is very important to me. I love going to church and spending time with my church family. I also really enjoy FBLA because it has given me so much growth. I now have many relationships, am much more comfortable meeting new people, and am way more confident speaking publicly. FBLA is very near and dear to my heart. I believe that it can benefit anyone. My goals are to boost the amount of community service that takes place through FBLA and grow the middle level. I want younger people to see that they can succeed just like adults. I’ll be sticking around!
